Boat Interdiction

The Boat Interdiction course is a one-day (8 hour) event that will benefit anyone on a boarding team, USCG MSST, PSU, MSO, port police, Customs or DEA agents and tactical team member who have a port, large river or marina in their jurisdiction.

With the War on Terrorism spreading into different arenas, interdiction of boats and water-bourne craft has taken on an even greater importance. The material and techniques taught is current and tactically sound. The U.S. Coast Guard, Customs and other coastal agencies have many of their front line personnel take this course each year.

In this course we will teach you how to board small vessels from the dock as well as from another boat. You will also be taught the various positions that each team member must take when boarding and how to take it down rapidly You will have an opportunity to search various boats for suspects (H3 actors), illegal immigrants and smuggled goods.

Finally, we will show you arrest-and-control techniques that you can use in confined areas which are also useful when you are involved in other types linear assaults.

In this course you will be taught:

  • Nautical and boat nomenclature
  • Intelligence gathering and surveillance
  • Step-by-step boarding and searching methods
  • On-board hazards
  • Vessel disabling methods

This course, like all H3 training, can be modified and tailor made to best benefit your department or unit.
